The South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) staff invites you to attend Working Group Meeting #2 for discussion on Proposed Amended Rule (PAR) 1469 – Hexavalent Chromium Emissions from Chrome Plating and Chromic Acid Anodizing Operations and Proposed Amendment Rule (PAR) 1426 – Emissions from Metal Finishing Operations.  The meeting will focus on emission controls and staff will respond to comments from Working Group Meeting #1.  The meeting will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 2:00 p.m.

NASF Concludes 2016 Washington Forum

The NASF Washington Forum concluded last week after an extraordinary schedule packed with meetings and speaker sessions. California Leaders attend National Conference

Leaders from the Metal Finishing Associations of Southern and Northern California attended the annual NASF Leadership Conference this week at the Wyndham Grande Rio Mar Resort in Puerto Rico. Informative sessions, limitless discussions on industry updates and numerous networking events with colleagues from around the country filled their busy schedules. The National Association for Surface Finishing California Chapters, in conjunction with the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, has just completed the 6th annual Bright Design Challenge. California Concludes Successful Fall Outing

The 2015 Metal Finishers of both Southern and Northern California Fall Outing was held last weekend at the Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa in Monterey, California. California Chapter Supports Texas Chapter Event

California Assembly Member Mike Gibson recently visited with members of the  Metal Finishers of Southern California.  Included in the meeting was a unique chance to tour  aerospace metal finishing company  E.M.E. based in Compton, California.  The tour offered insight into the fascinating world of metal finishing and helped to build a better appreciation for the impact of metal finishing in the economy and in our daily lives.

The annual MFASC Golf Outing was held this spring at the beautiful Pacific Palms Resort. It was a wonderful day – perfect weather, a beautiful course and an enthusiastic group of golfers. West Coast Bright Design Challenge Awards Winners

The Metal Finishers of Southern California have officially concluded the 2014 West Coast Bright Design Challenge. Non-MFASC Plating Company Fire

Non-MFASC member, Highland Plating Company in Hollywood experienced a tragic fire on Sunday morning, causing an estimated $1.8 million in building damages. Luckily, no damage to surrounding businesses was reported. The Los Angeles Fire Department reported no Hazmat efforts took place requiring evacuations during the fire, as no contaminants were identified in the air or surrounding storm drains. Local agencies are working to assess and private efforts will be made to clean up the area.
