Non-MFASC Plating Company Fire

Non-MFASC member, Highland Plating Company in Hollywood experienced a tragic fire on Sunday morning, causing an estimated $1.8 million in building damages. Luckily, no damage to surrounding businesses was reported. The Los Angeles Fire Department reported no Hazmat efforts took place requiring evacuations during the fire, as no contaminants were identified in the air or surrounding storm drains. Local agencies are working to assess and private efforts will be made to clean up the area.

Fully understanding the rigors of the business, MFASC offers regular training sessions committed to the safety of our member organizations and the prevention of emergencies such as this. All members are highly encouraged to participate in these opportunities through their local chapters.

Hazardous Waste Generator Annual Training is available to all members of the MFASC this Wednesday, July 16, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Stevens Steak House in Commerce, CA. Register online at https://mfaca.org/meetings-events/.
