10th Year of the Bright Design Challenge

Bright Design Challenge

Over the next sixteen weeks the students will compete for $20,000 in scholarships.

MFASC started the 10th year of the Bright Design Challenge with fifteen students from the Pasadena College of Design on January 31, 2020. The students toured K&L Anodizing and learned the basics of metal finishing. Next week they will be touring General Brite Plating to learn the plating processes. Over the next sixteen weeks the students will be making marketable products using surface finishing and will compete for $ 20,000 in scholarships awarded by the Metal Finishing Association. Alan Olick from General Brite and Bryan Leiker from K&L/MFASC will be working with the students over the next sixteen weeks and will be providing free surface finishing and assistance. The final judging will take place on April 24, 2020 with more details on attending to follow. Thank you to NASF and MFANC for helping to sponsor this program. We will continue to update our membership on this important completion.
